Montessori Education at IMS
As the summer fades and September begins, we are delighted to welcome our IMS families to another exciting school year. The youngest children in Nido, started their journey with us on Monday, 1st September, while the rest of our students will be joining on Monday, 8th September. These staggered beginnings have given us a wonderful opportunity to settle our new learners, and we are now looking forward to seeing the whole IMS community back together again.
This year is extra special, with many students moving up into new montessori groups, ready to embrace fresh challenges and experiences in their Montessori environments.

At IMS, the Montessori philosophy remains at the heart of all we do. Maria Montessori reminds us: “The greatest sign of success for a teacher… is to be able to say, ‘The children are now working as if I did not exist.’” This principle guides our commitment to fostering independence, confidence, and curiosity across every age group.

We are thrilled to share some joyful updates:
- Congratulations to Tamara on the birth of her beautiful baby girl! Tamara will be on maternity leave for the coming months, and we wish her and her family much love during this special time.
- We are delighted to welcome new teachers into our community, each bringing passion and fresh energy to the classrooms. Over the coming weeks, we’ll introduce them properly so you can get to know the faces supporting your children’s learning.
Learning in Every Stage
At IMS Sotogrande, children thrive in environments designed for their development:
- Nido (5–18 months): Nurturing sensory exploration.
- Infant Community (18 months–3 years): Building independence and social skills.
- Children’s House (3–6 years): Exploring core concepts and creativity.
- Taller 1 (6–9 years): Encouraging collaboration and deeper knowledge.
- Taller 2 (9–12 years): Developing independence, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
